Management dashboards & project intelligence

When two reports give different figures for the same project, better-looking charts do not solve the problem. Define each KPI, status date and source first; then let managers trace a warning to the underlying record, cause and action.

Representation of the

DASHBORD and project intelligence; From the problem to the control.

We make the dashboard model from the management question: what decision is necessary and which data supports it? Project code, WBS, CBS and contract packages are recorded; the formula, unit, owner and course of each indicator are specific. incomplete or old data is marked instead of displaying false certainty. the basket report is also valid only when the method of weighting and aggregation of the projects is agreed. the warning is linked to the responsible action and timing.

From figures to management decisions

The face of the problem.

Which bottlenecks do we address?

The design of the solution begins with the accurate knowledge of the problem; not by adding unnecessary capabilities.

01

Late reports

Manual data collection makes the report ready when the possibility of correction is limited.

02

Uncompatible statements.

Units calculate a similar index with a different base, formula or period.

03

Chart without tracking.

The manager sees the final number but cannot check the cause, the responsibility and the component data.

Technical Domain

Key solution capabilities

The final domain is stabilized after the process analysis, the existing data and the organization’s acceptance criteria.

1

Identification of Indicator.

Definition of formula, unit, source, owner, rotative and warning limits for each key performance indicator.

2

The analytical model.

Simulating project code, failure structure, cost centers, contractual packages and reporting courses.

3

The quality control.

Tracking the complete, recent, compatibility and validity of pre-presented values in the management report.

4

Analysis of time and progress.

Compare the base and current program, shift points, progress processes and activities that impact the result.

5

Analysis of Cost and Commitment

Budget display, actual costs, commitments, final forecasts and confirmed changes in a common framework.

6

Management of action.

Convert the warning to the responsible action, date, status and track history until the subject is closed.

Our approach

Design & rollout pathway

Each stage has a specific output, clear responsibility and control point to validate design decisions before the final development.

Access control, recording history and data quality are considered from the beginning in architecture.
  1. 1

    Design of the decision model.

Identify the management question, the required indicator and the appropriate level of details.

  2. 2

    Connected and cleaned.

Identify sources, recording rules and quality controls.

  3. 3

    Building an analytical layer.

Calculate the indicators and create a tracking path from the report to the base data.

  4. 4

    and healing.

Revise the application of indicators and modify the model in accordance with real decisions.

Testable design / no list of possibilities

Dashboards must turn management meetings into decisions

The automatic dashboard does not mean automatic or instant data. the rotation and quality of any source should be seen in the report; the old or incomplete numbers with a fixed appearance are not displayed.

Question of decision.

Which number has passed the threshold, how reliable is the data, and who should take action for how long?

At least the information model.

Identification of Indicator.
Name, formula, unit, aggregate level, status date, source, owner and action threshold.
The record.
Project key and package, course, amount, credit and reference; the drill-down path must reach the same record.
office of action.
The reason, the responsibility, the date, the witness and the result; the warning without tracking is purely red.

Design controls.

The same period.
The program and actual comparison should only be done for the same range, status date and unit.
The unreliable
No source or zero output will be displayed with "not calculable", no zero or green status.
Collecting the basket.
The percentage of projects without a credible weight is not average; the currency and project scale are also controlled.
The ID of an Exit.

Recent and valid report.

The date of the last source receipt, the coverage of the required records and the number of unresolved contradictions are displayed next to the index.

The first dissemination.

One management meeting, several decision-making questions, several reliable sources and a return route from the report to the source; before adding dozens of charts.

Solution-specific workflow From cost figures to corrective decisions
Technical Architecture

Three layers from data to action

Proposed architecture controls dispersed entries, applies business logic and makes traceable management output.

of 1

Source and recorded.

Calendar, contract, finance, documents, operational forms and field data with common reference IDs.

of 2

The core process and control.

Accreditation, work circulation, access levels, announcements, changes records and validation rules matching the roles.

of 3

Analysis and Decision

Dashboard, warning, analytical reporting and correctional action with the possibility of tracking any indicator to the primary source of information.

A real issue, a clear path.

Why is handover at risk when the project appears on schedule?

Scenario of Explanation.

The weekly report shows the percentage of progress appropriate; however, some critical equipment still have no confirmed evidence. the average progress of packages has hidden a sensitive chain stop. the valuable dashboard should reveal this difference between the reported situation and the possibility of delivery.

01 - Identification

A sign that should not be lost.

The overall progress is growing, but the turnpoint of the main equipment installation is moving.

02 – Analysis

Connecting the data base.

We move back from the turning point: installation to equip, equip to order and order is related to the engineering certificate. date of need, status of admission and owner delay are seen in the same chain.

03 – Action

Responsible and timely.

The manager clicks on the delay indicator, sees the barrier file and records the action with the responsibility and timing. the next closing report controls the same barrier; it simply does not show a new number.

Acceptance criteria

from a attractive.
to a reliable output.

The number of the dashboard must match the controlled sample of the base data. incomplete records, delayed data and past correction are displayed with a specific sign and history; missing data is not equivalent to zero performance.

With what limit to start?

The first publication is defined by a management meeting and a few specific questions: what is distorted, what is its origin and who should take action until when?

Errors to be controlled in design.

Technical Questions

Frequent Questions About Dashboard and Project Intelligence

The end response of the range, time and architecture depends on the existing situation and the precise needs of the organization.

What's the difference between the dashboard and the periodic report?+

The dashboard relies on a standard indicator model, updated data, and the analysis path from the macro level to the details; periodic report is usually a stable image of a point.

What indicators are displayed on the project dashboard?+

Depending on the need, the indicators of time, progress, cost, commitments, logistics, risks, changes, quality and management actions are designed.

What happens if the input data is not of sufficient quality?+

Data quality control is part of the solution architecture. incomplete or incompatible cases are identified and the quality indicator and time of the last update is placed next to the report.

Is the dashboard suitable for several projects and project cart?+

By standardizing the codes and reporting calendar, it is possible to aggregate and compare the projects along with access to the details of each project.
